In 2001, I built myself a cottage on a site allocated on the site of a former state farm. The state farm went bankrupt, the land passed into other hands, I got a plot on the occasion. It was impossible not to buy, it was sold cheaply. So I bought it.

They began to build a cottage. There was already some kind of cheap red brick shack and I did not like it. Workers demolished it in a couple of weeks. Several Kamaz construction debris removed and debris. The previous owner did not spare cement, the walls collapsed badly. I even had to hire an excavator for demotage and loading. But that's not the point.

What was built instead?

The foundation was made soundly. The foreman promised that he would be idle for a hundred years. They didn’t touch him, and it’s not clear how to pick him out - a monolith and reinforcement. Moreover, he defended. The problem arose because of the extension, that is, there was no ligation with the old base.

I bought brick more beautifully and more expensively, facing brands M150, a hollow. They brought it on pallets, in packs of 880 pieces, if my memory serves me right. I remember that it was inconvenient to count by thousands and cubes. Raised a brick with a crane.

Masons have done me well. Where only the foreman took these. Each brick was wiped off with a sleeve of sweatshirts and the main thing was how they started and ruined their first object, and then they learned nothing and got to the facing brick. As the team leader Sergey said: “A normal bricklayer will not come close to a facing brick, the responsibility is too high and it is difficult to work with him.” It is unclear how they themselves came to work with him with their team, but they were left behind the scenes and did not have time to tell.

What else? I brought them river and mountain sand, a couple of cars left clay. The solution was kneaded manually with shovels. They did not trust either the imported mortar or the concrete mixers. Then they plastered the walls, there was a lot of dirt, the finishers pasted the wallpaper, and most importantly, they set up a fireplace. The wife wanted to.

Now the repair is completed, a little picking on the plot, we come there periodically. We live in an apartment.

Having decided to build his own house, he decided to use either wood, or foam blocks, or brick as a building material. After reading reviews on building materials on the forums, I decided to abandon the use of wood, as many reviews mentioned the need to treat the wood with a protective compound.As a result, the choice fell on the brick, and soon after buying the material the house was built.

The house has been standing for three years. During this time, he was convinced that the floor, ceiling and walls are strong and reliable in a brick house. In winter, a heated house retains heat for a long time inside, and this allowed the use of the heating system in a mixed economical mode, which in turn improves the quality of the temperature balance. My brick house is dry, quiet and warm. And what is important, my house is well heated not by a large boiler.

It is simply heated and holds heat well, is a reliable home.

I have been happily living in a brick house for more than 14 years. The house is warm, does not creak at night, like a house made of sandwich panels, which my friends built. For all these years, I have never regretted that I used brick for construction. Here are the conclusions I made:

• The house is warm. The inner walls are lined with a brick.
• No noise is heard from the outside (the owners of the houses located next to the road or entertainment venue will understand me).
• A brick house is a capital building, so the floors between floors in my house are reinforced concrete slabs. If the floors were made of wooden beams, then you can imagine what kind of crack and creak they created when walking.
• The most important thing (this is a purely female opinion) - my house looks great from the side.
