In almost every apartment today, you can see the laminate flooring on the floor. It is practical, comfortable and beautiful. And there is the opportunity to choose from a huge variety of colors to your liking. By the way: laminate board sizes also have different. Much depends on them: for example, the speed of laying and its convenience.
What you need to know about the size of laminate boards
Like any geometric rectangular body, a laminate board is determined by height, width and length.
Height (thickness)
The thinnest laminate boards have a height of 0.6 cm, and the thickest - 1.2 cm. Boards with a thickness of 0.8 cm are produced by almost all manufacturers. Thicker boards perform better in operation. They are characterized by the following:
- On a thick laminate there are almost no traces of furniture legs.
- It conducts heat worse, so the floor will turn out to be warmer.
- The boards have fewer variations in size, so installing the floor is easier.
Board width
Narrow laminate boards, similar to real parquet, have a width of about 9 cm. To simulate ceramic tiles, boards are made wider - 33 cm. The width from 18.5 to 19.5 cm is considered the most popular. With these sizes, the texture of the tree looks most natural.
Board Length
Length from 126 to 138 cm - the standard size of the laminate. Sometimes on sale there are also particularly long boards, the size of which reaches 184.5 cm. It is more difficult to work with them, since it is not always possible to evenly lay such long floorboards. And the base is perfectly aligned - the task is not an easy one.
And before choosing the length of the floorboards, carefully look at your room. If it is spacious, then the boards can be taken more authentic. It will turn out faster. And for a small room, it is enough to use oversized boards.
