For more than a year I have been using two Guardian products. The padlock on May 20, was purchased due to the considerable thickness of the door, its larva protruded by 55 mm. At that time, the seller could not offer me anything else at an affordable price. I also decided another mortise lock, model 21.14, to buy the same company, about which I repeatedly regretted in the future.
I use the internal lock, unlike the overhead lock, quite intensively. About 20 closure openings per day. I lubricate the locks periodically, first with lithol, and now the VD40 because I came across rather “noisy” and jammed models. However, during the year of operation, I had to drill a larva from a mortise lock, which stuck with the door closed. Not too happy with the quality of the products.

I tried to open the Guardian castle 2514, which worked for a whole year. the attempt was unsuccessful because two of the 6 screws did not loosen. Cranked from the start. The cylinder mounting screw had to be turned several times, one way or the other, since the latch of the tongue in the larva was turned in the other direction. From this, the slot on the screw completely vomited, I had to look for and replace it with a screw made of normal metal. The only advantage of this lock handle and lining. There is no confidence in the mechanism itself after working with it, despite the manufacturer's assurances that its products meet all the guests and 4 categories of security and protection against hacking. I decided to replace the lock with a product made of better metal.

Four years ago, they acquired an armored, anti-theft door of a luxury class. Complete with it were two locks of the Guardian company. The upper one is closed externally with a lever key, and from the inside with a special handle, and the lower one with a key on both sides. Both locks are mortise, have a smooth running and are not difficult to open, which is very helpful, since our daughter, a primary school student, can now open the doors on her own, without excessive effort. In addition, when opened, the mechanisms do not emit loud sounds. This is very important, because recently we had a son who has a very sensitive dream. Both locks are equipped with an overlay to cover the hole. The only drawback is the rather quick loss of the elegant look. On the surface of the decorative lining, scratches remain even from the smallest exposure.

This practically negates all engineering refinements with secrecy and protection against hacking. The lock becomes almost one-time. I had to change the lock cylinder after losing the key, so the screw fell off a half-turn like plasticine. I had to drill a screw and knock out a larva. And two years after installation and rather careful operation, the crossbars broke off at the castle. After that, the castle was dismantled and sent to a landfill.

Secondly, after two months of operation, the "dog" falls apart - the return mechanism of the handle. For some reason, he was not in the lock mechanism itself, but was attached directly to the handle under a decorative trim. Given that the material from which it was made is very fragile, it did not last long.
