Penoplex is an innovative material, which is an extruded polystyrene foam widely used for warming various objects. This is a relatively new product distributed in domestic and foreign markets.

The material is used to provide thermal insulation:

in rooms (including basements), walls, floors and ceilings;

sewage systems and water supply.

It is used in production during the construction of roads and railways as well as runways. The material is used in the manufacture of sandwich panels.

Extruded polystyrene foam is used at different temperatures, regardless of the existing climatic zone of its application. Its use significantly reduces heat loss and reduces the cost budget.

Penoplex is not hygroscopic, resistant to sudden changes in temperature. The combustibility of the material corresponds to the fire resistance class G4-G1. In the insulation, mold, fungal infections, bacteria do not start and multiply.

Consumers note its ability to reduce noise and excellently ensure the safety of high and low temperatures. The insulation is completely harmless to health and environmentally friendly.

Penoplex is made by extrusion from expanded polystyrene. In the production process, plates with a closed homogeneous cellular structure are obtained, which provide remarkable characteristics of thermal insulation and mechanical compressive strength.

In the domestic market, extruded polystyrene foam Penoplex produces several plants. The material is presented on the market in different strength classes: standard, Penoplex 35 and Penoplex 45. The higher the number in the designation, the stronger the material.

Penoplex stoves - helped make the loggia and apartment warmer

The loggia in my apartment is quite large, about 7 sq.m, I have long wanted to bring it into normal form and create from it not just a room for storing old rubbish, but a full room. This year I decided to get down to business, the first thing I decided to insulate the loggia. As a heater, I chose Penoplex boards, I took a thickness of 50 mm.

The plates weigh quite a bit, they can be safely delivered to your home on your own, though you need to consider that they are large enough and take up a lot of space.
It’s easy to work with Penoplex, there’s not much waste left, everything goes into business, small pieces perfectly fit together.They cut the plates with the most ordinary knife, they do not crumble and do not break into small pieces. I managed to completely warm the loggia in 1 day, I fiddled with the inner lining more. So, the material is decent, buy, you will not regret it.

I got acquainted with this material for a long time, more than once I used it as a heater, I know all its advantages. So, I will tell about them. the material is very versatile, it can be used for thermal insulation of any part of the structure. The material is very durable, high thermal insulation, good waterproof, eco-friendly.

Here are some characteristics of penoplex:

1. density up to 32.0 kg / m3;

2. in terms of combustibility it is assigned to group 4;

3. thermal conductivity at 25 ° C is 0.033 W / mk;

4. water permeability per day, becomes no more than 0.4%.

Naturally, I recommend this insulation, (used it to warm your house) it is multifunctional, you can use it on the floor, walls, for roof insulation. At a price category, it comes out a little expensive, in the range of 120-130 rubles, for 1 stove, but we are building for ourselves, qualitatively.

I work in a company manufacturing metal-plastic profiles. Separately install windows and glazed loggias. Very often, our customers order not only to install windows on the loggia, but also to completely insulate it. We use Penoplex for insulation, we have an agreement with the supplier company, therefore it is beneficial to everyone. They sell us cheaper, and therefore the final amount of material for the client is less.

The material is high-quality, easy to cut and you can pick up any desired piece. I cut the necessary pieces with a file for metal, but you can also use a knife. The thickness is sufficient to warm the loggia and create a normal temperature. The price is slightly higher than for polystyrene, but polystyrene is a pretty poor material for such purposes.

I don’t know anything about the dangers of Penoplex, but they say that you can not expose to high temperatures. It burns well, it burns itself - it burns quickly and with the release of thick black smoke. But if you do not allow fires, then there is nothing wrong with it - there are a lot of materials in the house that burn no worse. At this time, I consider Penoplex the best choice for insulation and sound insulation.

we insulated the floors of the first floor

We have an apartment on the ground floor. As long as I remember in it, the floors were always cold, no carpets warmed. Having decided on repairs, they turned to specialists and recommended Penoplex for thermal insulation of floors.

This material is used for thermal insulation very often, and it has proved itself well. We bought plates in the construction supermarket in size 1200 x 600mm. I saw that the material is light, although quite durable.They laid it quickly, but poured a cement screed on top, and it took a lot of time to install it and even more to dry it. Subsequently, a laminate was laid on top. The result pleases us, the floors have become much warmer. Next year we are going to insulate the loggia in the mother-in-law’s apartment with a penlex.

The guys who did the repairs here said that it would be great for warming loggias. I heard that it is easily ignited and when it burns, it smokes heavily and this smoke is poisonous. Perhaps these are the disadvantages of the material.
