On the other hand, there are models of Chinese or domestic production that have a dubious reputation, but a very affordable cost. After much doubt, I gave preference to the second option and bought a Russian-Chinese OMAX model 04801 hammer drill. It is worth noting that subsequently I never regretted my decision.

The puncher itself has a sufficiently high power (950 W), is equipped with a drilling mode, and can also work as a jackhammer. The impact energy of the device is 4.4 J, and the rotation speed reaches 800 rpm. The package includes not only a set of spades and drills, but also a special cartridge for conventional drills.

So, having bought a hammer drill at a very attractive price, I went to test it on a new apartment. Immediately after turning on the instrument, an insanely pungent odor appeared that instantly spread throughout the room. I had to quickly go to the garage and drive the appliance there with the gates open wide open. After that, the smell disappeared. Perhaps this was the only drawback of the device with the exception, perhaps, of heavy weight. However, I soon adapted, and was able to easily hold the instrument in one hand for a long time.

Since then, I redecorated the apartment: demolished the concrete wall in the panel house, hollowed the tiles from the floors, made many holes, made grooves for wiring, widened the doorway and then lent the tool to a friend. Of course, the operating mode of the puncher for 9 months can hardly be called tense, but during this time he has seen a lot. Having made such a profitable purchase, I came to the conclusion that it is still possible to save on the purchase of a tool.

I’ve been doing finishing work for 10 years now, of which 2.5 years, I successfully use an Omax 04604 rotary hammer as an improper running power tool. For all the time I worked with him, there was more than one amount of work where he “misfired” ". A very powerful hammer drill (the declared power of the plant is 4.2 Joules), it quickly and easily drilled deep holes in reinforced concrete slabs with it. He served it only a few times: changed brushes and grease, and recently, due to a voltage drop on construction sites, the rotor burned out. Which, purchased in the nearest service, and independently replaced in about 20 minutes.This replacement part, did not affect the work of the punch, it still works well and reliably. I definitely recommend this hammer drill for those who value a reliable tool!

4 years ago, my wife decided to make a birthday present, and gave me the OMAX 04801 puncher. Since then, I regularly use it at my work (I work as an electrician and quite often, I have to make a punch with this puncher for subsequent wiring). For the entire period of this time, the puncher has never let me down, hammering powerfully, both concrete slabs and brick.

The only breakdown for all this time was the wire, which was quite worn out and broke off in the area of ​​the handle, I had to cut it a little and securely fix it in the handle of the punch. The puncher in maintenance is unpretentious, occasionally lubricate it, but for the purpose of prevention I change the seals.
