Aerated concrete is increasingly used in modern low-rise construction. It is believed that this material perfectly stores heat, which is why it is used for the construction of residential buildings. In addition, construction using gas silicate blocks is proceeding rapidly. Reviews of aerated concrete blocks will help you learn its pros and cons firsthand, namely the quality of the material, its technical characteristics, requirements for the interior and exterior decoration of the house.

Aerated concrete block
A comment
When building a house in 2014, he chose the production unit of the Aerobel factory with a width of 400 V3.5. I heard a lot of opinions about him, both good and bad, good more. Excellent material during the construction did not arise any problems, the unit is easy to lay and handle. We stopped a year ago, was worried that the wall thickness was not enough for "heat", because at the factory I was convinced that a 400-wide block for the cladding was enough without insulation, but in the process I realized that if you build correctly with insulation of the base, ceiling and windows, then a width of 400 is quite enough (we live in the Belgorod district), since the interior decoration is in progress, I can say with confidence that I do not observe cracks on the walls (I laid the fittings), choosing the right fasteners for aerated concrete, I installed a kitchen, etc. ., although I heard the opinion that do not keep anything on it tsya! In general, at the moment I have never regretted choosing a block!
pros
Resistant to fires, has noise and heat insulation, economical, easy to process, environmentally friendly, durable, not subject to decay.
Minuses
More pros than cons!
Term of use
less than a month

With aerated concrete blocks, construction went quickly and without problems
A comment
2 years ago acquired a plot for construction. The cottage decided to build a one-story building with a small basement and an attic, with a total area of 200 sq.m.
When I began to make estimates, for a long time I could not decide on the choice of the main material during construction. I began to ask friends, look for information on the Internet, as a result of which I came to the conclusion that aerated concrete blocks would be the most beneficial choice for me. I do not regret it, the house turned out to be a sight for sore eyes!
pros
- the material is fireproof, not combustible;
- cannot be destroyed by fungus;
- the material from which the blocks are made is mineral;
- construction is quick, one block is able to replace up to 38 bricks;
- blocks are not toxic;
- good frost resistance and heat saving;
- eats all sounds well;
- such blocks can be cut, cut, etc.
- there were no problems with the interior decoration, it is good to lay the plaster on the blocks;
- cost.
Minuses
- build alone will not work.

Built a house from aerated concrete blocks
A comment
Recently, aerated concrete blocks are increasingly gaining popularity among the population. So I decided to build myself a house out of them. I bought the blocks from the factory, the enterprise is located not far from my place of residence, so it was not difficult to get the blocks for me.

Aerated concrete blocks are made of: water, lime, quartz sand and cement. There are pores on the blocks with which they can breathe.

For myself, I took blocks measuring 625X250X250, they were packed in pallets of 1.5 m3. One cube cost me 3360 rubles, and on a house with an area of 90 m2, it took 103,900 rubles. Agree, the cost is low. I didn’t suffer with interior decoration at all, the walls were almost ready, I just leveled it a little and that’s it.

In addition to the efficiency of this material, I can also say that it has good sound insulation, energy efficiency.
pros
durable material, good sound insulation, the cost is not high, made from environmentally friendly raw materials, steam efficiency, energy efficiency.
Minuses
afraid of moisture

Convenient construction with aerated concrete blocks
A comment
I read on the network that the main weakness of aerated concrete blocks is that it is not suitable for multi-story construction. I did not plan to build a "high-rise", so such blocks were quite suitable for a one-story "house". The area is large and the speed of the construction of housing mattered.
I will not write about the vinaigrette of the properties that are attached to each building material. The consumer cares about the strength and warmth in the room, the rest is secondary.

The foundation was deepened by 70 cm, a width of 40 cm, reinforced and cast. To ensure that the roof withstands wind loads and does not fly away with a light aerated concrete, in the upper row between the blocks I inserted reinforcement, tied it up, made the formwork and filled it with concrete, that is, made an arm belt (necessary!).

Two years of living in a house from gas blocks were successful, without incident. Stucco on the facade did not burst. From this I conclude: the material is high-quality and convenient to use.
pros
Masonry speed, thermal conductivity.
Minuses
Expensive fasteners due to low strength.

Ease of use, reasonable price, high quality - and all this applies to aerated concrete blocks.
A comment
For the construction of his house, he decided to choose aerated concrete blocks, immediately taking into account that this is a high-tech material and the technology must be followed to the maximum.

First of all, I paid special attention to the foundation, making it perfectly flat (± 1 cm error), laid the first row of blocks on the solution, and again made it as flat as possible.
Further, the blocks were laid on glue, on this material I decided not to save, I used expensive high-quality glue. The thickness of the seam I got was about 2 mm, when installing each row, I always pulled the thread, aerated concrete blocks, although simple in masonry, were still reinsured.

The first row, then the first row under the windows and then every fourth row was reinforced with Ǿ8 mm reinforcement in 2 threads. On floors and under the roof of the same aerated concrete with a thickness of 100 mm, he made an armored belt with the help of a fixed formwork.

Well, in principle, the main points that I used in my example, I am satisfied with aerated concrete blocks, the house is 2 years old, there are no complaints yet.
pros
the atmosphere in the house is almost like in a wooden one - quiet, comfortable temperature, attractive for the price, excellent thermal insulation, very little shrinkage of the house.
Minuses
strongly absorbs moisture, had to do additional waterproofing

The whole friendly family gives excellent feedback on classic aerated concrete blocks
A comment
We all came from Siberia to the Oryol region. There was a question of housing. Well, we purchased plots in two villages, bought aerated concrete blocks with a thickness of 400 (for lovers of coolness) and 500 (for sissies) mm. Used: thin masonry on a warm adhesive mixture. When laying, they additionally used alkali-resistant reinforcement,

From the inside, they were primed, plastered with a special mixture, puttyed, primed again, painted with a vapor-permeable compound.

Outside - they used 10 cm polystyrene. + Wire mesh + fur coat and painting.

We adhered to the manufacturer's recommendations, therefore we are satisfied! Last winter, the frost was 25 degrees a week, our walls remained at room temperature. We don’t know the cold. In the summer, we rejoice in the cool.
pros
gather like a child’s designer, guarantee comfort (warm on frosty days, cool in the heat), instantly dry
Minuses
so that the walls maintain a stable temperature and dryness, it is better to make the seams thin, the auxiliary insulation should be multilayer; if not protected from the outside, then heavy rain will easily wet the walls through.
